The Oklahoma Satan Monument Controversy

The controversy surrounding the satanic monument proposal for the Oklahoma state Capitol is in response to the Ten Commandments monument that stands there now. The monument was resurrected in 2012 and since then, several groups have proposed their own monuments including the New York-based Satanic Temple.

First of all if the Satanic Temple really is serious, it’s because they are trying to make a statement against the religious symbol that stands there now. I know they seem serious! They certainly have raised a good bit of money to have the satanic monument made and they have formally submitted their request.

The thing is, I see them chuckling behind closed doors. When they come out and make their speeches to the media, they are all about business. But, I see this as one huge joke that they are getting a kick out of throwing wrenches into the legislative process and spitting in the face of the religious establishment in the buckle of the Bible Belt.

The fact is that the Ten Commandments monument in place has been defined as a symbol of law. That’s a viable reason and it represents the people of that area.

The satanic monument does not represent a significant number of people in that area. Of course, there are other capitols throughout America I would be willing to bet the satanic monument would be welcome and does represent a sufficient amount of people to be taken seriously.

Honestly, I like the satanic monument. It’s a welcoming lap with smiling children. Who wouldn’t love that? It is a perfect symbol of deception and evil. I would put one in my home as a reminder that such a thing does exist, even though itself claims its greatest accomplishment was convincing the world it does not exist.

As far as being resurrected in Oklahoma on the Capitol steps, I don’t think it stands a chance. What does it symbolize? It’s not a symbol of crime. I know of no Satan worshipers who have ever even committed a crime. And it’s certainly not a symbol of law. That would be hysterical to see someone from the Temple try to twist that one.

So my only conclusion leads back to the fact that this is just one huge joke. I seriously can’t wait to see it play out!

Satanic Statue erected in Detroit . . . check out this unique guy who speaks of Satan with poetic tongue! “I didn’t take your mail Mrs. Peppertin. Stop asking me that!”

By the way, that guy is Andrew Bowser and it’s actually his thing . . .
