Backlinking is crazy these days.  It’s hard to figure out how to get your link on sites that will greatly effect your PR ranking.  The most legitimate way is to create a top notch site with great content and the links will come.

“If you build it, they will come.”

But, there are ways to reach out and get those links.  What I have found is that you can greatly increase your online effectiveness by finding viral ways of gaining backlinks.

Viral is a term that many of us use to express when the internet community gets a hold of something we have created and spins it themselves.  You find your digital products all over the internet because they’re useful and people love sharing.  It’s another legitimate link building strategy because people are freely adding your products to their sites.  No spam.  No phish.  Just free sharing.

So, there are several ways to make this happen.  The most effective is by creating software that sites can use.  I’m not talking about downloadable software that a person or company can use on their computer.  But, software that they install on their site for others to use.

In recent years, I have literally watched thousands of variations pop up all over the place.  I have seen money conversion software and personal search engines.  I have seen graphics generators and photo editing software.  The premise was that the software was on the site.  You had to use it on the site and you were able to download it and install it on your site for your visitors to use.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.  But, you need something that fits your site’s niche.  That’s where most of your thoughts are going to need to focus.  What could your industry use that you can create and distribute digitally that other sites will find useful and have to install on their sites for their visitors to use?

Don’t miss any key point.  Go through each question and neither of them can go unanswered.

How can you make it so that other sites can use it as a tool on their own sites?

For a few examples of this idea in action, visit some sites that you visit all the time and most of them have neat gadgets they will let you use as long as you keep their information intact.  The prime example would be the video games that you can play on game sites.  If they allow you to install those games on your site, you can let your visitors play those games as long as you keep the embedded link code intact and that is the viral strategy that allows that video game programmer to gain links on every site displaying that game.

Did you know that you can create software easily with a Software Generation Program?  Read through the website and take a look at just a few of the suggestions it has for what kind of software you can create.  It gives you ideas you can use.  Just modify those ideas to your niche.

This next example might seem a bit harder.  But Wordpress Themes, once the hard part is done of getting them built, are the easiest way to virally distribute your link.  If you can learn php language and write yourself a theme, you should try to make the most dynamic theme available with the most functionality and versatility.  If the blog community likes your theme, they will use it.  Hundreds and thousands of bloggers with your theme leads to hundreds and thousands of backlinks because you embedded your link in them.

The next example is the easiest.  There are plenty of tutorials for creating Wordpress Plugins.  Plugins help bloggers increase the functionality of their sites without having to hack code.  They simply install the plugin and activate it.  These plugins always have links to the programmer.  That could be you!

There is a plethora of wordpress plugin tutorials online.  From videos to ebooks and everything in between, you can have fun learning how easy it is.  All you need is an idea, then learn the hooks and functionality to make it happen.

One way to learn is to download a plugin and open up the code in notepad to see how it works.

These are just a few ideas that I hope you use your imagination and come up with some of your own.  When you use viral ideas, you have no idea how big your backlinks can build.

Well, for some people it might be.  But, here’s the kicker.  If a guy writes an article, he has enough skills to drive traffic to his site where he can possibly convert traffic into sales.  But, let’s say this guy wants to splash his content all over the internet and he chooses an automated program to do it.  An article spinner takes an article and exchanges adjectives and alternative statements then spews the result out to he internet.

Here is the absolute best example I can give you of the Article Spinning trash:

“Michael Phelps has certified which he drank a drink prior to removing in to an collision in Downtown Baltimore final week — but authorities contend the contestant is not at error for the crash, according to The Associated Press.

Officers who arrived at the stage did not discharge margin seriousness tests since the 24-year-old bullion medal-winning Olympian — who was arrested for DUI in 2004 — showed no signs of spoil at the scene. Amanda Virkus, the alternative motorist concerned in the accident, ran a red light in her late indication Honda Accord prior to colliding with Phelps’ Cadillac Escalade, putting her at error for the accident, military say.

“We had the really most appropriate eyes on the situation, and we’re really well wakeful of his story and his notoriety,” Baltimore Police orator Anthony Guglielmi said. “We longed for to have certain which all was finished by the book.”

Michael will be cited for pushing with an invalid, out-of-state license.”

The best thing I can say is that this article was probably copied and pasted from someone else’s article and then put through the spinner.  I like how they said the article is according to The Associated Press.

But, what is a bullion medal-winning Olympian?  I have never heard of one of those.

“…showed no signs of spoil at the scene…” I guess it’s good that his label hadn’t quite expired yet.

I’m sure Honda might be interested in knowing that they now have a late “indication” Honda Accord.

Actually, there is so much to this article that is wrong.  I could go on for days.

The thing is that these kind of tactics DON’T WORK.  They reduce the workload, yes.  But, that doesn’t matter if they don’t produce results.

Just do what’s right and you’ll have great success.  The best advice I can give you is be genuine.  Think of all the success stories on the internet.  The scam artists can’t produce long term income even though they have successful hit and run techniques that are so risky, some have been arrested and placed in jail for a good part of their lives.

But if you look at all the successful ventures that do produce long tem income, you will find that they all are genuine pursuits.  Ebay started with a man’s genuine quest to help his wife trade Beanie Babies.  Google started with a genuine attempt to help surfers find what they want.  Most search engines at the time were skewed by who could pay more for advertisement.  Google has advertisement.  But, it marks it.  The people at the top of the search engines though appear there because they are relevant to the search.  Their sites are built with Google’s SEO rules in mind.

Genuine online business pursuits can take as little as a few days to put together and a few weeks to start pulling in income.  Of course, there are plenty of examples of overnight hits and there are plenty of examples of failure.  But when you do it right, you will soon have an online business that will equal and then surpass your present income.

The article spinners weren’t too attractive to me.  I’m a writer.  What in the world do I need software for that takes my article and spins it into 8,000 other articles?  They weren’t that effective either.  A few adjectives here and there does not a unique article make.

So, those kinds of tools were never my cup of tea.  But, I did try to get my articles published in as many directories as possible.  I would write an article and then submit it to EzineArticles and AssociatedContent.  Then, I’d sit back and enjoy my new traffic.

On EzineArticles, I would watch how many times my article was syndicated.  That means that anyone who wants to pick up my article in their newsletter or for their website can simply republish it as long as they keep my byline information intact.  This is a great concept to take advantage of because your material can circulate the internet so fast and drive so much traffic.  Syndication is the perfect answer.

The problem with Syndication is that your article circulation is really up to the readers.  If they want to Syndicate your article, they choose it.  But, there is no way to make it happen.

Writing great articles helps.  But, that’s not the only factor involved.  If your reach online isn’t far enough to reach the readers who would appreciate your articles, then they won’t go anywhere.  What you can control is how much work you put into article submission.

You can literally get so lost submitting your article to all the article directories out there that having this part of your online business campaign automated is really worth it.  If you can write at least one to two articles a week and then submit your articles to as many article directories as you can, you’ll drive tons to your site.  And they will convert into sales because they will have read your article in their own corner of the internet and when they decide to follow your link, they come with credit card in hand ready to buy what you’re selling.

That’s how effective it is to put your article submissions on autopilot.  But, you have to know how to choose the right article submission service.  There are some that work and then there are some that don’t.

First of all, an article spinner isn’t important.  It’s fine to have the same article syndicated all over the internet because that gives your article a greater change of being read by people in niche markets as well.

Second of all, an article submission service only works well for you if it also opens up profiles for you.  Can you imagine having your article to submitted to over 400 sites and having to confirm your profile for all of those sites?  It would be crazy.  So, that part has to be automated as well.

So having said all that, there are two that I have found that measure up completely to the automated standard.  These article submitters actually do the job as promised with no hassle.  Take a look for yourself.  It will literally put your article submission and traffic driving strategies on steroids.

Some of the online business plans are the simplest to throw together.  And it seems that the simpler it is, the more effective it is.  If you have something that a niche market across the internet could want and you have a way of contacting that niche market so that they can see what you have to offer, then you can be a very rich person in no time at all.  Just to show you what I’m talking about, I’ll spell out a simple plan that you can actually put into action today.

Follow these steps in order.  They may not make sense at first, but you’ll soon understand the order makes the most sense.  Let’s put it this way, you have to put some things in order before you can put the entire plan to action.  So, these steps are the most efficient.

Driving traffic is important.  But, it doesn’t do you any good to drive just any traffic to a site that you are trying to promote.  You need to find traffic who will be interested in the site you are trying to promote.  And just in case you are worrying about it, you don’t need a site.  I’ll show you where you can find sites to promote that will make you the most amount of money.

So, where do you find good niche-targeted traffic?  The only investment you’ll have to make in order to put this entire plan together is $19.95.  For less than $20, you can have 2,500 unique visitors driven to your site.  That’s guaranteed traffic of 2,500 fresh, unique visitors coming to your site credit card in hand.

But, I have been in the presence of plenty of motivational speakers. As a teacher, the beginning of every school year was ushered in by a motivational speaker who would lift us up so that we were ready to face the thousands of kids rushing in our doors the next day. It’s really hard to find a social media site that people don’t use to conduct business.  It’s in the way that they do it that separates them as a legitimate business person or a spammer with selfish intentions.

So, conducting business on Twitter isn’t a problem.  Just conduct it in a way that won’t shame you if you ever had to answer for your business practices.

Twitter can be a powerful machine if you put the right tools in place.  You can completely automate your twitter account so that you gradually grow your followers and you also keep people updated on topics that interest you.  If you do it right, you can walk away from twitter for a day or two and when you return you will find it still growing in a natural and effective pace.

The first thing I do with new accounts that I put together for new clients is sign them up with a Google Alert.  But instead of having it delivered to their email address, I make it into a feed.  That way, I have an RSS feed that I can use at TwitterFeed.

TwitterFeed will automatically update your twitter account for you.  If you put a keword in the Google Alert that is exactly what your business is about, all updates will be relevant.  You’ll be able to add your own updates whenever you want.  But when you walk away from your account, it will still keep going.

Here’s the thing, you won’t be bombarding your followers with useless crap.  These updates will only come through Google Alert as they are published to the internet.  So, you might get an update 3 hours after the last one.  That’s not every minute or every ten minutes.  That’s only when someone across the net has something to say about your topic.

Next, the advanced settings on TwitterFeed will allow you to choose frequency of updates, content to display, what to post before or after an update and it gives you a list of programs you can use to shorten links.  You won’t be able to use my link shortening process because that requires a little work creating files for each link.  But, you can use tinyurl or bit.ly.  My favorite is Digg.  Just Digg those automatic updates and everyone who reads them will feel safer looking at them if they want.

So, that lets your followers know that you are still alive.  Here’s how to automate your list to keep adding followers.  There are plenty of programs that say they will automate your follow list, but every single one of them is very expensive.  Yet when you imagine how much money you can make from having a professional listing with a steadily growing following, you start to think about that ROI.

If you spent $15 a month on an automated system that added followers, purged those who have no intentions of following you back and found the perfect people to follow you, that would be a good ROI.  The program I use has a filter system for every function it includes.  You can schedule automatic follows on keywords that you use to describe your business.  Editing the filters, you can make sure that the program chooses people that will be most responsive.

Another feature, it has is what it calls mimic follow.  If you are competing with someone who has thousands of followers, you can put their username into your system and it will follow all of that person’s followers.  Everything you need is in place and you can walk away from twitter for a day or two.  You can walk away for a week and it will be steadily growing with no problems.  Try it for free for as long as you wish, but you’ll soon see that being able to schedule all of its functionality will take the hassle completely out of your hands.  That’s when you’ll pay the $15 a month.  But, please try it for free.  See how it works.  There is no free trial.  You just don’t get completely automated functionality with the basic membership.

It’s safe because it doesn’t attempt to follow thousands of twitter accounts in a day or overdo any part of the automated process.  If you put in about 10 keywords that have to do with your business, it will only follow up to 40 people at a time for each keyword.  Every two hours, it will try again for each keyword.

Every two hours it will purge people from your following list who have no intentions of following you back.  You can edit the filters so that you can immunize people.  I have it set at 75%.  That means that the latest 75% of people I have followed will not be purged for about a week.  They don’t get purged out two hours after I have added them.  That’s just ridiculous activity that Twitter will find suspicious.

How much does it cost a month for upkeep?

How will you maintain the current income level and even grow it?

These are perfectly effective questions to ask.  I’ve heard of people walking away from beautifully running businesses because they had too many other businesses or they took on a life change and wanted to walk away.

But when there is already an income, then the business deserves a better look.  One company in particular has distinguished itself from the pile and earned itself a gold star for its performance.  So, let’s use that one business as an example and take a look at what you should be looking at when you buy someone else’s business.

First, got to Website Broker and conduct an advanced search.  You can set plenty of perimeters like maximum and minimum prices.  You can set a category, status, length listed…etc.

You will find websites that have been up and running for months and some have been listed as far back as ten years ago.  So, you have plenty to choose from when you are browsing.  So, set the perimeters and start searching.

If you set a maximum price of $500, you’ll find thousands of websites to look through.  They are listed with quickview details so that you can see what you need to see from a bird’s eye view.  Some don’t have an income.  Some don’t have visitors. And that’s to be expected mainly for sites that are listed below $500.   But if you keep scrolling and looking for that needle in the haystack, you’ll find it.

Just a few listings down the page, you’ll find Launch Press Release.  A website that is pulling in $3300 a month.  A website that has 5100 Page Views Daily.  A website that if you bought now for the $495 asking price, you’d make your money back in a week.  Of course, that’s a risk.

That’s why you use such things as Alexa to tell you if the traffic is actually there.  Ask for records of income.  Don’t be shy.  But, don’t let those great opportunities go right past you.
